"Adventures around Cincinnati is a terrific book for parents and grandparents who wish to explore the Cincinnati area with their children and grandchildren. There are no less than 87 attractions listed, which include addresses, phone numbers, websites, hours, costs, ages, stroller and wheel chair information, legnth of visits, and comments. The attractions are divided by region. One very nice feature is a small map with numbers of each attraction. This makes for easy planning and an easy way to have an "impromptu" trip to another attraction nearby. At the end of the book, there are a couple of sample itineraries for two years of summer adventures, and two years of year-round adventures. Also included at the back of the book is a chart listing the attractions in alphabetical order noting what kind of things are at the attractions so that the reader can plan adventures based on his or her interests. I live in the Cincinnati area, and I didn't even know about a lot of these little gems, many of which are free. I'm looking forward to planning my own adventures using this book. The film of childhood plays only once. It is so important to make memories for your children. Adventures Around Cincinnati is a great book to get you started."

However, as my 6 and 8 year old boys and I started to explore the book and our home town, I realized how much there is to do that I didn't already know about. "I can’t tell you how much I have truly enjoyed this book. We had an adventure every week this year; we made tons of memories and learn lots of new things. I decided that I would follow that book step by step so I found a friend for our adventures; we planned out all of our adventures at the beginning of the summer and chose all of our adventures from the easy to use guide.
I have no less than 10 local travel books and I have never used any of them as much as I used Adventures Around Cincinnati. The things that makes this book better than most travel books are 1. Description and Comments are to the point; you get all the info you need without getting too much. 2. Length of visit area is very nice we tended to spend more time than the book stated but at least I knew about how long each attraction was going to take. I knew that if we were driving to Dayton for something that I would be there for at least 2hrs and not making an hour drive for a 30min attraction. 3. Age level guide, my kids range from 4-16 so this was very helpful, it allowed me to gauge how it would work for each child. I also found the Age guide to be spot on. 4. The table guide in the back of the book was the most helpful. For our 1st summer I wanted to keep the cost low just to see if this was something my kids would enjoy doing. I used the free column to find the low cost attractions. My family also enjoys the outdoors so that column was also every helpful. The table allows you to custom fit adventures for your families intrest. I love this book; my copy is already dog-eared after six months because of all the use it gets. I have found that I go to it often just to find fun everyday family outing. I would highly suggest you get a copy and keep it close. We literally have over 20 pages of activities bookmarked and are planning to visit all of them by the end of the year...then we'll move on to the rest of the book! "I think this is an invaluable resource for any parent in the area!! It has been such a treat to be able to use this book to plan some new and exciting things for our family this year. Our absolute favorite adventure so far was one that was not in the book but we found out about it through FB. We took the kids to the Bengals stadium for a tour. They got to play on the field for at least 30 minutes and we even met and got a picture with Dhani Jones!! This book helped open my kids (5 and 7) up to trying new things. The fossil park was a hit and they had a fabulous time at Young's Dairy. Looking forward to pickng out even more adventures for fall and winter."
